Team Plum has had some serious Valentine's Day spirit this year. We've done several DIY projects, but these heart cupcakes with our sweet five-year-old helper are probably our cutest project!
Ok, let's be real for a second. We were baking with a kid. The goal was to make this as simple as possible, so we used a boxed cupcake mix and pre-made frosting. We never claimed to be baking enthusiasts.
Because we used a boxed mix, this recipe is a piece of (cup)cake. Basically, just follow the instructions on the box, but before you pour the batter into the cupcake liners, roll up foil into marble-sized balls and place one in each compartment to create a dent and give it a heart shape.
We used a cupcake kit from Hello June, a shop that is inside of Spice Village with us! It included multi-colored cupcake liners and the little heart saying picks that we used on top of the cupcakes.
Let this be inspiration that being festive doesn't have to be super difficult! Our project was easy and so fun. Happy Valentine's Day, friends!
